Question How far out should exhaust tip be?

I've been thinking about this for a while (6 months ) and have finally decided to see what everyone else thinks. I had a 4" exhaust tip put on my custom exhaust back in May and never thought about how far out it should be from rear lip. The exhaust shop suggested having it out about 1" to show the Magnaflow brand name on the top of the tip, so that's what I did. But ever since then, I've though it might look better having it flush with the lip, maybe a tiny tiny bit out. What do you all think? i can post pics later if that would help you.

I like having it flush with the lip of the rear bumper.

flush is good. more stealthy. besides there is no beni in having a longer tip? maybe less carbon and stuff on your bumper thats all.
