I have never heard of the chip. I think some info would be great as well.

I associate the Jet chip with Ebay. Take that as you will. Unfortunately, I have yet to see anyone using the jet chip, let alone post any dyno results. Personally, I think RRM has put more research into their piggyback, and even with that price difference, I'd get the RRM one again.

The Jet chip is effectively a reflash. Jet does this for a lot of cars and manufacturers, but I don't know enough about them to make an informed call. Either way, just to clarify the RRM piggyback is not an ECU, it's an add-on to the existing stock ECU.

I haven't heard many good things about the chip nor do I know much about it. I would go with the RRM Piggyback.

Just because you haven't heard much about it doesn't mean it's not good. If we had a current member with the Jet chip then maybe we would know what benefits it has.

I just think it's funny how people discredit things because it is not the popular part on this board.

The real question is: how do we get more companies to make Lancer parts like the ECU?

its not a wise investment for many companies to do a reflash since its an econmoy car that they would get very little business from. we still have plenty of options for engine management, but we just need to do the grunt work in doing the tuning ourselves.

Understandable. Not a large market.

It would just be nice. Now that RRM stopped the reflash, there's nothing. I want things like the higher rev limiter.

And I don't want to do my own tuning. I pay people for that.

True, but when spending your hard earned money, would you rather go with tried and true or cheap and unknown? Sure, the Jet Chip could be better than RRM, but it's a risk. At least you know you're going to get improved performance with the piggyback, the Jet Chip could do anything from amazing horsepower gains to incorrect timing and predetonation

My intentions were not to discredit anything. I was just stating that I knew little about that particular mod...but it would be nice though if we had some input from somebody with the Jet Chip...

And that sort of thinking leads to the problems everyone else complains about. When people only buy the tried and true you don't get new parts. So either way, pick your poison.

I've never heard of a failure with the jet chip except for OZ BOTS who FORGOT his ECU had been flashed and then installed a RRM turbo kit. He drove for I believe he said 3 minutes before the motor blew. Then again, for some reason I don't find that very surprising, nor should anyone. I'm not saying do or do not buy either product, but if you want to make an informed decision, do some research. You're just going to get the same people here regurgitating the same **** back at you if you don't look on your own. It's more important that you learn about the product than that you learn what people think of it. Good luck.

What you are saying is true Urban but the only reason why we know so much about RRM products is because people have been buying them. When DRC imports was offering the jet chip, NO one bought from him since he did not provide any dyno numbers or supporting information. This was at the time when RRM was actually reflashing the ECU. I personally think if the ECU had been better priced it would not have been discontinued.

I'm sorry but there has to be a limit to MONOPOLY.

I guess I am just getting to the point where I am tired about hearing how much better someone's product is than somebody else's since I tried some products that did not work for me.

But as the saying goes, "To the Victor goes the spoils!!"
