can this be done?

i really dont think this can be done but there no harm in asking.
so today i was at the dealing and noticed the ralliart headlights with the black in them and they look amazing! they give the front of the car a way better look! meaning i have to have them (i got the chrome look ones). i would have to be on crack to buy them at the dealer and im not haveing any luck finding them on the net used or aftermarket. anyone know if theres a place i could get light like the ralliart? from what i can tell the only diffrence in the lights is the chrome is black. i could do that easy with a spray can, and for free! but like i said i dont think theres a way i can because its all sealed up to keep the water out and prob not ment to ever open again.
so what the deal on the head lights? can this be done by the avrag gyuy?

Do a search, there have been a couple of how to's on this. Many have done it but it requires for you to put your headlites in the oven. I'm not crazy about that and that is why I havent done them.

i don't know and i don't think i'd try it. but i agree, the ralliart lights look WAY better than ours. a set of those on my black lancer with the eyelids i just bought would look just plain EVIL!

Not hard to do.. you just have to be patient and have the guts to rip your lights apart.

Road Race sells the blacked out headlights. Or there's a guy that will do mine here in So Cal for $75.

^ he has a 04, so rrm doesnt have them yet i believe, and if they did it would be way mroe than its wroth, even the 75 is too much when you can do it yourself.

i just traded mine with an RA guy that wanted mine. be careful taking the headlights out, there's about 4 diffrent little plugs and things holding them in and they're a mother to get out.

thanks for the info guys. well there goes me doing it, i have no problem painting it its
opening it and sealing it thats freaking me out. someone said something about an oven? is that for opening the seal? how would u open and close the seal anyway?

lookslikeanevo>i wish i could send them to u now but i can because my lancer is my only car during the winter and i need my lights lol. but chances are i will send it to u in the spring when i have my summer car out.
do u have any pics of the lights u did for people?? hows the seal over time with leaking? any issues with the paint and heat??

lancer1>were can i get these blacked out headlights?

is there a place i can get aftermarket headlight and tail lights? at a reasonable price

thanks
