is it really difficult to relocate the battery? i dont wanna go through w/ the trouble. i know there is a how to on it or something on this site, ive seen it before, but im askin u who have done it. Also - i wanna just buy some alluminum myself and make one. the filter is 3" so i'm guessing the part of your engine that the intake is hooked to, is 3" too.

Dont use aluminum its way too conductive, and it will defeat the purpose of the intake. I cant think of the piping that aem uses, Im almost positive its not metal though. I would just use a short ram, i have the rrm and love it. Theres probly only a 1 or 2 hp difference between the the short ram and cold air so ur not losin anything hardly.

dude screw all that custom making, just a get the hood duct from RRM. instant cold air and shortens the distance the air has to travel

SRI + hood duct = shorter distance for hydrolock! Try explaining that one to Mitsubishi. Just do a dang search!! All you really need is the elbow and an adapter plate/not much info. to search for.

guys, i've got a filter, and it's on the stock tubing. I just dont notice much difference, but i just wanted a cool tube. like one of those alluminum ones. ya know? as for your SEARCH fanatics. I hate searching. everyone does. You maye find a thread, and search through 14 pages before you get the ANSWER your saught out to find. Searching is a bit of a waste. Thanks for you other guys who mentione the air duct, i noticed it before, didnt know about it though. how it works and stuff. wouldnt i have to cut into my stock hood? or what?

maybe you should do a dang search. ive had the hood duct for a year now and ive also been in the worst of rain, i have never experienced hydrolock. the filter has to be completely engulfed in water to get hydrolock.

okay...sorry, I guess you like oiling your filter

BTW, checked out your car. It's nice.. but wouldn't your heat shield on your sri defeat the purpose of your hood vent thing anyway... can't ever have too many accesories!

I also moved my battery to the trunk and cut out that metal plate under the headlight. Then took a 2 in" had it bent at a muffle shop. they only charged 10 bucks. Then hooked the mass air sensor and the filter to it. Then i also went out and bought PVC pipe and made my own. Works just as good. Just not as loud as the pipe cause it doesn't echo or vibrate as much. I keep the pipe in my freezer, and drive daily with the pvc intake. Ten on weekends when i'm out driving with friends and doing stuff that the cops dont like, i put the metal one in. ANd it's already ice cold... it helps make air cooler for about 1-2 hours. I've also seen a guy who made a pouch that fits around his intake and he'll get those ice pads you put on swollen muscles and put them in their....Ghetto as hELL but it works.

Sorry bro, I use not aware of the piece that deflects water when coming through the hood duct. Hope you except my apology! I guess a hood duct + sri is an exceptable alternative to a cai.
