Will a MT intake fit on an Automatic?

I see all the time great prices for cold air intakes or short rams that are 5speed/MT , or something like that, and i have an automatic. Does it REALLY matter what kind of intake you get??

It does because the automatic tranny is just so much bigger. When you look down into the engine bay of a M/T there is just so much more room for a pipe to go, you can actually see the ground below it. I've heard of people bending some CAI's to make them work, but they usually end up laying against something else and maybe defeating the purpose. I'd contact a few vendors and see what they have to say about it.

From what i heard, only a SRI can be fitted to an auto, that is what i have, apparently there isn't enough room in the engine bay for a CAI, unless you try to costumize one yourself, but that is just a pain, so go with the SRI, it does make a big differance.

Please search before you ask...

The Auto's bell housing is far too large to fit any intake past it... no way to get around it.

there are a few members on here that have made one fit by
a)moving their battery to the trunk, or
b)using an intake made for a diff. car(i think someone used one for a crx)

but i don't really see the point. its been discussed a thousand times, and everyone has a different opinion, but if you ask me i say that as long as you are using a good filter(i.e. k&n), then it doesn't matter if the tube is injen, aem, rrm, rmr, or ebay. a tube is a tube.

From what ive seen; and heard: The are high flow, havent got one my self but seen the displays at autoparts stores with k&N vs stock and k&n flows alot better. You should just get a sri with a hood scoup and you'll be just as good as CAI imo.
