Step 1 - Take dash apart. And thoroughly clean all surfaces free of dust and oils.

Step 2 - Sand dash pieces you want to paint lightly with 500 or so grit sandpaper.

Step 3 - Get flexible bumper primer and shake well. Apply light even coats so it doesn't drip. Get about 3 light coats on it but don't let it drip. If it drips, sand down with 400 grit sandpaper. Of course after it dries. (I prefer wet sanding)

Step 4 - Proceed to wet sanding down any imperfections or dust that has stuck to the primer. (After primer has dried.)

Step 5 - Apply thin even coats of your favorite color automotive flexible paint, custom dash paint, etc.. (4 coats should be enough)

Step 6 - After dry, wetsand down with a little bit softer grit, such as 800 grit if you have any imperfections.. other than that leave it alone. It should look very smooth.

Step 7 - To protect the paint so it doesn't scratch, apply flexible clearcoat. About 3 coats should do. *Be careful with clearcoat because it runs and can bubble up easy. It sticks to everything!!

Step 8 - Let the clear coat dry for about 48 hrs or a little longer.. 54hrs. If the pieces you painted have no texture (smooth dash pieces), then you will want to wetsand the clear coat with 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper. ****If they are textured (like the glove box is).. leave them alone and you are done!****

Step 9 - Use rubbing compound to shine the clearcoat on the smooth pieces. After looking pretty shiney with rubbing compound, use your favorite brand automotive wax to really make it shine.

Step 10 - Carefully re-assemble your dash.

Step 11 - Take your car to your nearest friend and show it off. =D

Your welcome.. yea dude. Be creative. Thats why I painted vents and the little vent controls white, contrasting it with red. Just plan it out first, maybe even take a picture and label what you are painting in MSPAINT first. If you get it done post some pictures soon =]

I believe krylon fusion doesn't require primer and still has a nice finish, depending on what kind you bought (glossy or not). You can check krylon's webpage, but I'm almost sure of that.
