question....
question....
is the evo 7 manual or automatic? cause ever since my dad bought me a lancer...it's an auto...but since he took it back after i chose to live with my mom..i made it my mission to buy the evo 7 as soon as it gets out...but i need to know..whether or not i should brush up on my shifting skills...thank you much...
Hiya
I'm not sure Mitsubishi have ever produced an auto-box for the Evolution series, I know the Evo7's available over here (UK) are all manual. I think Mitsubishi doesn't have any plans to introduce an auto version for the US, although I could be wrong
.
Practise your shifting skills anyway, you'll appreciate much more the work a good auto-box is doing for you

Definately brush up, it's manual. They may bring a semi-auto at some point, but it won't be anywhere near the same to drive. Best thing to do would be to attend a high performance driving school or track day to learn car control. You'll appreciate the Evo much more after that... otherwise you'll never really know what it's truely capable of safely

Whats the point in an auto box for a lancer Evolution, absolutely no point at all. It would be like having a chocolate fireguard, absolutely useless. I reccomend you brush up on your driving skills. You will need em.
Hey Rogered,
Unfortunately, a lot of ******* in the states can't drive a 5(6) speed tranny. It's pretty pathetic how many people can't drive a manual. I'm pretty positive that if the EVO comes to the states in any great number(that is over 5k units) you'll see an auto tranny offered
