TeamFlare...you're right!!. Go for it if you want. I saw at one point a rally team in Mass or NH had did an AWD conversion on their all-rally ES (manual) and it was on sale on Ebay for only $15-16k. That would have been your chance my man. Full roll cage, AWD, mods out the a$$. Oh well...sounds good to me. Good for it.

Then by all means present your facts, but leave
out words such as </noobsmacks> or no0b. It's
rediculous, I came here to learn not to be insulted
by ignorant internet *******s.

Just because you don't want to do something crazy to your car, doesnt mean you have to kill everyone else's dreams, even if they seem inconcievable.
he isnt being pessimissstic, hes being intelligent. there is a difference. for somebody new here that has barely a thread of knowledge you really shouldnt be challenging one of the gurus that has been one of the most helpful ppl in supplying info to the rest of the lancer community. sit back and dont speak.

not to impose on a lancer thread but ignorance has more to do with a lack of knowledge, believe me yours shows, you have no idea wat is involved in an awd conversion, its pretty much building a new car on the same frame, changing engine and transmission, adding the rearend which means u would have an evo in an es frame. sure anything can be done if you have the money. but even after its done there is no guarantee in smoking the evo. for less than the price of your lil conversion an evo could easily be into the 11's

Mine shows? I've done nothing but ask simple questions,
and brought up simple ideas. Ignorance has nothing to do
with what I know or don't know about cars, because if I admit
I don't know that much mechanically, and that isnt being ignorant.
The ones who are ignorant, are the ones who can't answer a simple
question without flaming me for lack of knowledge mechanically as they do.
I was impressed with the second half of your post though. You
should cut out the first half, flaming me, and post the FACTS. BTW,
look up the meaning of ignorance... That would be me claiming to know
a lot about what I do not. Until now I had respect for most of you(the
ones that I know). But I'm kind of disapointed, especially at Mike, who has
been quite helpful over the past year. I have done over a years reading
on these forums and I have to say you've been quite helpful(Mike). I
just never thought I would fall into a position to be flamed, I'm kind of
disapointed I even started posting, after a year of doing nothing but
reading. I know what I know, and if I say something incorrect, it is
your spot to correct me. However, it is not your spot to call me ignorant.
Especially on my own thread. Like I said I just came here to learn. But
apparently you guys are to biggoted to understand someone in my
position.

i like to help, i didnt flame you, but will be stern. i do not take ppl attacking my friends, i will defend them. i think you are confused on the definition of ignorance:

ig·no·rance n. The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed.

You are asking questions that have been discussed and answered several times and are saying things that arent really true about swaps. Dont take what we say so harshly. This is really jsut the internet and shouldnt be so upsetting, at the same time we are giving you the info.

I understand, but the middle one... unaware... it seems like
you guys were unaware that I just wanted to learn. I never
said anything informative about an AWD swap, all I said is
that it would be cool to get one done, I never made any
suggestions that it would be cheap or easy, it was just an
idea, which yes, I'm sure has been thrown out there before.
Anyways I have to leave. Later.

This thread just needs to be deleted. Instead of a simple "its gonna cost you alot of money and good luck" its turned into a huge arguement.

First thing I think of when I hear "AWD Lancer Conversion" is the good old Evo V conversions using a Mirage and a GSX.

Yet to see on completed. Also the next point, which was mentioned 120hp car with AWD? 2.5RS feels like a little piggy as it is (well as pigish as a 2.slow VW) and that bad boy has 165hp and one helluva AWD system.

Also I doubt you will be able to find "parts" to give your "connections". This is becuase any part off of an Evolution will need to be redesigned to accomindate the Lancer chasis. While the Lancer and Evo look alike, they share almost nothing but the air pumped into their tires. Almost like an H1 and H2. The Evolution has a stronger chasis featuring additional welds and the body pannals are not even the same, being a "wide body" design.

Kinda like putting an NSX engine in Civic, just stupid.

dont try and be so "know-it-all" jorge, your info is a little off about parts that the evo and lancer share

They do put NSX engine's into civics, somehow I doubt he's a sponsored drag racer though. Am I the only one who finds it funny that he complains about being flamed yet he proceeds to flame people? Long story short, it'd be a great thing to have, but reality rarely works that way and in the end even if you did beat an evo, he could simply say "mine costs half what yours did, and that was brand new", plus there's reliability, insurability (engine swaps are rarely insurable), etc..

Eboy is right. It's called respect T-Flare. He was in the position to call you a noob when you posted the terms AWD conversion before searching. Maybe while ur at it with that dictionary you can look up noob.
Noob - One who despite the many many times is told, refuses to use the search function for knowledge already discussed.

You might say I was once a noob. Maybe so, but I know better than that now. After reading the forums for a year you would have seen about 10 discussions on the topic. Now you know better on this.
Eboy, you rock. Just keep your pimp hand strong.
