I think it has to do with shops removing them. Like when you have a catalytic convertor removed most shops are cautious about it. b/c shops can get into trouble for doing so.... im not sure it applies to the owner tho.

I've tried a few models of the Boss kit, they won't fit our Lancer. I'm not sure if I've tried all their models, but the chances is very small. From what I know was that the boss kit fits the older lancers. But if anyone knows Jap, and knows that those would fit, I'll try and let you guys know.

rayabedi, any news about the hub? You can try the HkB hub on ebay too, it's for the evo 7 and 8, it has the SRS signal plug too. I was gonna buy it, but they won't ship to Canada. Please keep me post.

Steering Wheel Hub Adaptor...

I just got a 320mm Ralli Art Steering Wheel with the Momo/Sparco 6 bolt setup.
I had a guy call Sparco (which Im about to do)
and he said that they told him, theres another hub adaptor that will fit.
I believe its for the Mirage (cus everything for us is for the Mirage LoL)...
Someone sacrifice your money for your Lancer community and buy it to test it out, and let us know if it works or not... Way to be a Trooper!

It's not illegal to drive without an airbag.... but since your going from an airbag wheel to a non airbag wheel, you have to get a hub from a non-airbag steering wheel. I put a ralliart wheel on my mom's galant and i had to go to a junkyard and get an older steering wheel hub from a non-airbagged galant. Luckily it fit i'm not sure if the same will work for the lancer. You might be able to find a mirage hub and make it fit.....

Spend a couple/few hundred and get a used Evo wheel with the airbag. It looks awesome, feels great, you don't get any idiot lights eternally lit up and is a snap to install. I did in my Ralliart, and next i'll get one for my wife's OZ.

Yeah Ive seen it done, but I have an actual Ralli-Art Wheel, and its smaller diameter than the stock evo wheel, and thicker too...
Thought about it tho...

ur right its not illegal to drive around w/o an air bag, however it is illegal for someone to remove a wheel w/ an airbag and replace it with one w/o an airbag for everyday use., thus why many shops dont want to do it b/c if they get caught its huge @$$ fines.

Hub Adaptor

I got a 320mm (pic is 325mm but same wheel) Ralli Art Steering Wheel, and I posted questions about the Hub.
I called RRM and they told me that an aftermarket 2G Eclipse Hub adaptor or an EVO hub adaptor should fit, however they werent too sure... So, I called Sparco who said that they didnt make an Adaptor for the US Lancer cus its somekind of different style type or what-not, however (and this is what Im still trying to understand) that the Galant hub adaptor would work... Well, I got the Galant Adaptor from Sparco and Im installing it this afternoon. Wish Me Luck!
If it didnt work Ill let ya's know, and if it did, Ill come back Cheering!

PS:
Sparco and Momo Steering Wheels are the same 6 Bolt Pattern, and the wheel must mount to the hub. So yeah, you can use any Sparco or Momo or Bride Wheel on your Car, just make sure you have the right Hub Adaptor for it...
I know an Evo owner who wants my wheel Its thicker smaller and feels much nicer than the Evo wheel, so dont just jump on the bandwagon with the Evo swap thing, for those of you doing steering wheel upgrades... I got this on eBay and its more than worth it, trust me.
(Yes theyre still there, type in "Lancer Steering Wheel")

Steering Wheel Hub Adaptor Install...

The Galant Hub Adaptor
Sparco's doesnt work, the hole was too small for the shaft.
So... another weeks wait. Momo's hub adaptor for the Mirage is said (by Momo) to work for the 92 and up Lancers, so once again Ill let ya's know how it turns out.
