I would like to keep the Lancer. I like the underground scene as Evolutions are becomming widespread. (Coverage on magazines, and there are toys of them too). I bet there are more Evolution owners on this board than there are Lancers. In terms of the Lancer scene I feel like it's almost like a clique of old friends from the ol' sandbox. Just sittin' at the corner and just bullsh!tting while having a good time. That's why I come to the boards in the first place. Represent.

I'm happy with that.

However, I wouldn't mind owning a used ________ one on the side of the Lancer.

I think your right on both counts. I see far more mom's, teenagers, and old fat guys in Lancers then I do Evos but that's just the differing nature of the cars I suppose. And I feel that the Lancer scene is kinda like the Mirage scene... a lot of people put down our cars but when you see one that is really nice it surprises everyone, including the doubters and haters.

Yes! That's exactly what I'm talking about! I totally forgot about the Mirage scene. Afterall, it was the fine folks from Mirage performance that sent me over here to EvoM.

I am gonna have it paid off by the end of this year. I only got to make 7 more payments on it. I was just contemplating doing it. I dont think many people who did sell the lancer might still be on the forums. The main thing I dont like is what everyone else is basically stating and that is the power. It was just kind of like the thought ... "oh wouldn't it be nice to have something with over 200hp that is stock." I was contemplating upgrading, but im not sure I want to incur another upper 10's or lower 20's loan.

i mean a lancer is just a car you pay 14 k for. It is in the same class as civics, caviliers, and all the other econo cars. You can always get bigger and better, but for a 14k car it provides a good platform. We're never going to hang with an evo, WRX or STI but neither can a civic. Im content for the time racing other slow four cylinder engine cars. When i get out of school and get a real job then i will purchase me an evo and hang with and rip up 80k cars. until then im content maxing out and getting the most of my lancer.

Well said! I'll be keeping my Lancer even after I graduate and get a new car. I have plans to toy around and experiment with my Lancer and see if it runs after.

After your seven months are over with, take the money you would have been spending on your car and start investing it in mutual funds and stock. Buy something appreciates in value rather than deprecates in value. And mod the hell out of your lancer. That's what I'll be doing. I plan on being in a house by the time I'm 27-28. There's no way in hell I'm paying rent to someone, ever.
