I wonder if this fuels some fire

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...967988084&rd=1

what caught my eye was:

This is an EXCELLENT motor to swap into an 00-05 Mitsubishi Lancer model. It is fully swappable into any lancers.

i have searched this forum as well as google for a "definate" answer on this swap, but yet never got that kind of confirmation, this isnt a "CAN THIS BE DONE THREAD!" its just a small observation, and if someone has an extra 600 bucks they can end the mystery if it hasnt been solved already

thats maxt on these boards. he was parting out a ralliart

to be honest, its gonna cost more than 600. you'll need ecu and engine harness for sure, possibly transmission also. that is a good deal considering its got coiplacks and all that goodness

but seriously, someone try it

actually, it is a pretty good motor to swap into non-ralliart lancers. if i had the money to buy this + some more money to get it swapped in, id take this off maxt

someone should actually be trying to do this swap instead of an evo swap. the more i look into this, the more possible it looks like to complete it. if i had $millions and nothing better to do...

I actually asked about swapping that engine into a lancer in illuminati's thread about him swapping an evo in his 04. Engineerboy told me that, it can be done, but you'd be paying so much money, you might as well should have bought the RA in the first place. Dun really remember his answer, I think he said stuff bout the ECU, you might wanna read it in the thread. I know the thread is huge by now, but just wanted to let peeps know what was said.

yeah that's true. but my point was that i'd like to see one successful 4G69 swap amidst all the evo swap babble. the 4g69 shares all motor mounts except the front which just needs to be swapped. you'll need new hubs and axles as well as swap all the brakes. rotors are the same as the 2g eclipse gsx and you could swap over the 2 pot calipers instead of the single pot ralliart calipers. you could probably keep the lancer transmission, but would need a new electrical wiring harness and wire up the drive-by-wire throttle. there MIGHT be an issue with tranny clearance and radiator support. still not cheap by any means, but logically more probable to getting swapped.

whatever the ****. i'm just babbling. i'd just rather see some people pursuing a ralliart swap as it just seems like it'd be more likely to be completed. hell, even a 4g64 swap would be nice at this point.

i want someone with come cash to try this. it sounds like it could be done and if so would be probably the best to put into a non R/A lancer. good luck to whoever will be the first b/c i know it's not going to be me.
