When my Accord's factory badging fell off, I used good old super glue. I'm sure it's not paint friendly, but the badge was on there another 2 rough Chicago winters, and was still there when I sold the car.
Lots of badging comes with double sided tape already installed. You might want to look into some of that. You can get it at Wal-Mart pretty cheap.

Totally serious. In fact, you might want to head to the dealer and see if they have any badges to show you. I'm pretty sure that the Euro EVOLUTION badges people have been getting use double sided tape.
I know a lot of aftermarket badging uses it.
Again, no promises on the paint. As for putting it back on in the first place, I can tell an ES when I see it, badges or not. People that have any clue at all will know that all the Lancer models are slow (02-03) and the little ES in the corner probably won't have any effect at all.
Worst case, if you really want it back on but are worried about paint and such, the dealer can get you a new badge for probably under 10 bucks.

The proper tape to use is a double sided acrylique grey foam based tape made by 3M, do do use regular carpet white foam tape. You should be able to find it at any automotive supply shop.
any double sided tape will do, i suppose..... but don't put the "ES" back on.... it looks ugly, i mean FUGLY ........ the ES badge wouldnt matter at all, people who knows car can tell your car is an ES right away, as Sailorgoon said. And people who doesn't know anything wouldn't even know ES is the cheaper type out of all lancers
