Yeah I did the same thing, two weeks ago I went down
to the bank and opened up a new passbook savings...
I deposited 200 dollars, then every day instead of buying
fast food I threw it in to my bank account... and a few days
ago I sent in my first layaway payment for 780.

That's what I'm doing. I thought about turbo but then if I'm gonna drop $4000 on a turbo may as well save that money as a down payment for an Evo.

My plan is:

-Buy a few more bolt-ons for now.
-Payoff car
-Save $4000 that a turbo cost, use it as a down payment
-Sell my current Lancer

$4000 + My Car = NEW EVO

Sure it may be like 3 years from now BUT it'll happen.

BTW akasirlancerlot...I hope you get that turbo soon

I totally agree bro, I started saving a few months ago and as long as you have a plan and each amount your going to put in the account each month, the turbo isnt as far away as it might seem. All I have to do now is sell my sound system and the piggyback and the stage 0 turbo is MINE ALL MINE.
good luck!

one advice i can give you is look at your situation again....

1) why pay off the car?...your just gonna trade it in anyways?
2) why spend more money on boltons?...just another waste of money especially ifyour trying to save)
3) i hope you have a decent job that will support maintenance and driving costs...double the insurance, double the maintenance, run high octance gas only...there a are a lot of thing to think about wehn buying a car like that....and you may see it you may not...just my opinion

just a few thing io wanted to point out...cus it may sound nice,as i alwasy play around with MY GF saying im gonna get one...but i know i wouldnt just because of those factors...and that id rather be in a g35...

I see where you are coming from.

1) I'm not trading it in. I'm selling it on the side.(get more that way because dealership gives you hardly anything on trade-ins) Plus if I have paid it off I'm going to keep it for another year or two with no payments

2) the only bolt-ons I'm thinking about getting is TB and IM...that is IF I even get them

3) Yes I have a decent job and in like 3 to 4 or even 5 years before I get an EVO I'll be making more money than I am now.

Not trying to argue...I understand what you are saying and I have thought it out. It may take time but eventually it'll happen.

Back on topic.........

akasirlancerlot you should get the turbo when you get the money.

Thanks for the look out. I thought about the insurance and maintenance and stuff like that.

Trust me...I make more than $10 bucks an hour...you need to make more than that to afford an Evo.
