buying a used header

when buying a used header, is there n e thing i should look out for?? The one im lookin at is not chromey like the RRM's new one, its like a matted silver. Those one are still compatible w/ the turbo's correct? I imagine they are. The one im looking at is a good price, so im jus checkin to see if theres n e thing additional i should look out for to make sure its in really good condition.

if i sound like a n00b, i kinda am, i never really paid attention nor had n e interest w/ headers til all of a sudden i could finally afford a turbo!

In my opinion, a header's a header. How the exterior looks really doesn't matter. As long as it works.

My RRM header had the chrome get a little duller. It is no big deal. Just look for cracks and make sure that all the flanges have no holes. If it is the header from RRM, it is compadible with their turbo kit, but I am unsure of other brands of headers such as RMR, kamakaze, etc.. It should work fine. Just get new gaskets to make sure you don't have any leaks.

Lucky. I don't have a new job, but I can save my cash. I should have one within 6 months... a turbo that is.

Different finishes effect how much heat the header holds in/lets off
