The RX-8 is a great lookin car, and I love the Rotary engine, but if they're all gonna break down after 60k then you'll get a big HELL NO from me.
Hooby
rotary engines can last up to 100k miles or more...but no one knows how to maintain them...they jus thought it was like any other engine...and they are pretty high maintenance but if u take care of the engine...it last a lot longer than 60k miles

if i had to get one of those and add 10k to it...it would be the rx-8
since i want to get the rx-8 anyways when it comes out
prolly could turbo it and do a bunch of suspension mods to it for 10k

ummm, the rx8 isn't going to have a wankel rotary, its going to have a renesis rotary ( i think?). Nobody knows how reliable those are going to be, because i don't think any car has ever used them before, but i think that mazda is prolly a smart enough company not to make the same mistake twice.
Dude, if you've got that kinda money to spend on your ride, as much as I love the LanEvo... and this is a Lancer forum... I'd go for a high class car... I love my Lancer and all, but an m3 is just plain classy.
Plus, you can't beat the reputaion, and proformance. I happen to also be a big BMW fan... if you'd like to get a good look into the world of BMWs... just like we have the lancer forum, there is a dope BMW forum... www.dtmpower.net This is a great site, and I know you'll find what you could really do with 40k. To speed up the m3... you don't have to do too much... I'd start with pulleys to up the hp.

to get an m3...a new one at least...ud need a lot mroe than 40k. the msrp on one is 45k and bmws always sell for more than msrp...they are jus not enough of them and bmws are in high demand now adays. add on options...taxes...luxury taxes etc...itll be around 55k or more. and i really dislike the e36 m3s, if u were to get a used one...they are not that fast at all...and dont look good either. new m3s are such a ripoff...u jus dont get enough to justify that cost. they dont even come with metallic paint standard! when much lower class cars...like lexus is300 comes standard
