but doesnt covering the vent defeat its purpose? also, if you position the SRI at the standard spot, then the vent shouldnt be leading directly to the filter. nicktutt hope you dont mind that i used your image to illustrate

just get a camera, place it on a tripod in front of your car, take a shot of the car with the hood closed, then open hood, without moving the camera, take a second shot with the hood open. then just edit the two pictures in photoshop and tadah — transparent hood shot. or i could do it for you if you can provide me with those two pictures

BTW.....that's pretty sweet......maybe tou could use my actual engine bay shot with it
actually i have the cerious performance hood, the vents r helpful, you actually see the heat rising from the motor.

yea, I have the rrm short ram and the vis evo style, and even though the vent is not directly lined up, theres still alot of air rushing in that area.

Different sri's different spots though. The vent may be closer to some filters, depending on which sri you have

shouldnt have a problem though, given that you never get into any situations involving water being shot into your vent. i dont think they would design a vent like that without the consideration of water going into the engine

The chances of serious water ingestion are slim, vented hood or not. You'd need to create a strong vacuum effect in order to really pull any large amount (read: an amount that would possibly cease combustion). The purpose of those hoods tends to be venting heat, rather than allowing for the easy induction of air. Unless the hood is ducted pretty much directly to the intake or over a heat source it is, as Nick put it, more for looks than function.
