Spark plug socket is easier. It pulls the plug out of the deep hole it's in.

Also - rather than a paper filter, what about a foam one? I like my HKS...

Next ones I'm trying (after the stockers, platinums and two sets of iridiums) will be copper.
Thank you! Actually, I spend $2 each on the NGK copper plugs. The Iridiums are at LEAST $25 a set. you do the math. I race and change my plus every other oil change (so let's say every 4 months or so). If I spent all my money on plugs, I wouldn't be sporting the stage 2 cam right now (still working out fuel and timing, hopeful that I'll be good to go by next weekend).

Somethign to do with being able to make a ridiculously thin core- which is supposed to create a "hotter" spark because of less cross-sectional resistance. So the logic I remember was: sure, it's not the best conductor at the same gage wire, but if we make it 5 times smaller, we get a little less resistance and therefore better spark.

But that's just what I remember from NGK's own site

Seriously...it takes 5 minutes and it's really simple. If you don't look at the pictures and slap yourself for waiting for them, then you probably shouldn't be handling tools around your car.

If you know what a coil pack looks like and how to turn a wrench you should be able to do it from my description. I'm not tryin' to rag on you, but you coulda had it done a week ago.

You can get the OEM NGK plugs at Canadian Tires for 2/$5.95, but they will not list the Lancer in their manuals or computers, just go there with the part number as listed in your owner's manual and they will have the plugs there.

It a bit tricky to change the plugs on the Lancer since plug 2 and 4 is under an ignition coil, so you will have to remove the 2 bolts on the coil with a 10mm socket and lift it up to replace those 2 plugs.
