motor mounts

I am going to be taking out my intake manifold soon. Now, would it be easier to install the motor mounts I plan on getting soon at the same time or am I looking at the wrong mount in the engine bay for the rear one. It looks like its on top of the tranny. If anyone knows where the 2 mounting points are please help me out.

Front mount - pop hood, look down. You'll see it.

Rear mount - on top of cross member, near DP/cat connection.

I'd say do the rear mount with the IM if you can. Kill two birds. The rear is no fun at all. The front one should take you about 5 minutes.

PS - buy them from Deyeme Racing, not RRM. RRM sells Deyeme mounts, but at double-price.

true that for deyeme racing. its exactly the same, and you can pick your color

from what i've heard, and because the rear is so difficult, get firm up front, and leave the rear stock. thats a nice setup, as both firm would make the chassis shake pretty hard

is there a link to these motor mounts? Psycho did you just change the front? And if so, do you feel the difference?

Just a little more help for the front mount, I found that it was easier to remove the center beam that runs from front to back of the engine bay. I believe there are two bolts up front, and one in the back holding this beam up. So the steps would be:
1) Remove engine mount bolt that connects the engine to the mount.
2) Remove center brace.
3) Swap out mount. It makes it super easy to get to the back bolt.

you can find it from there i'm sure

i haven't changed anything yet, but last time i checked, people with turbo (even boe) just changed out the front, and left the back. firm up front, stock in back, thats my plan

I agree with GreenPsyco. Hell, just try the front and see how it works. You can always add the rear at a later time if you wish...

I'm guessing you have to lift up the engine with a hoist to replace the motor mounts?

from a scale of 1 - 10, how hard is the installation of the rear mount?

I'm turbo and just have the Deyeme front mount(firm) actually feels real good, no wheel hop, the tires just stick to the ground.
I also just removed the skid plate to install the front mount!

Yeah you definately dont need a jack to support the engine. Once you take off the nut for the bolt that slides through the mount, just push up and down on the motor until the bolt slides out.

On a scale of 1 -10 for the rear, hmm, I guess it would all depend on your skill level. Maybe a 7??

Ya, I looked at that motor mount in the rear and it looks to be about a 7.. I thought you had to support the engine somehow, or else it would just fall down on the mount and jam them in place so it wouldn't come out... guess not though.
