Engine does NOT need support. You remove one, there's three holding it up.

Swapping front only - it's a nice feeling. But you don't get the full effect until you swap both. I speak from experience.

I have both firm. You notice some vibration at idle, but it wouldn't exactly knock a drink over. Basically, your butt vibrates a bit. I haven't had any passenger complaints.

People that ride in my car ask me everytime why it runs rough. I was in a hurry last year and I let Midas change the oil and the dweeb that did it told me I needed a tune up. Firm front and rear makes it a little rough but it feels soooo much better when shifting and stepping on it.

Well, like Blacksheep said, it'll make a difference, but not as much as both would.

And I've always been confused about the engine support thing. I swear that in various posts and articles, I've seen RRM contradict itself about the need for engine support for swapping the rear mount. But if you say you don't need to, then you don't need to.

I was a little cautious when I took the first mount out, but I actually had both the front and rear removed at the same time and there was no problems. The side mounts support the engine just fine.

Put a jack under the oil pan when you do the rear. It is NOT for support, it is to help get the mount out if the bolt through the middle is binding. I wrote the how-to like ages ago for this but no one has ever said it was horse**** so if I was to do it again I would go off that article.
