if you want your car to look like a manual, and you have a big problem with it being an automaitc, my best suggestion is to sell it and buy a manual

Ok Ok guys, Here's the thing. I'm currently doing a custom in dash monitor install on the lower cubby underneath the a/c controls. The reason I'm asking for a shorter shift knob is because when the monitor is pulled out, the shift knob kind of gets in the way of the view(it's not bad). so I want a shorter shifter so the view is better and before everyone starts flaming me saying, "Why don't you just put your in dash where the head unit goes?" I want everyone to know it's a custom job and believe it or not I want to be different.

but if they do that, what happens when they have no clue how to drive a stick in the first place? I guess they'll just have to get their new car towed to where they live.....lol

its actually pretty easy to learn how to drive a manual, i learned in about 20 minutes, just to let you know, my dad drove it home from the dealership.

just because you get a manual means you want to race? i can cruise just as well as an automatic, and i typically do.

most custom shops should be able to do it for you, but not at an unreasonably high price. just go and get some quotes, but like i said, it probably will be pretty expensive. good luck, sorry for raggin on you about it.

ummmm, that was a joke.

ppl customize their cars anyway they want to. if they want their automatic to look like a manual, then they will do it.

and what's easy for some, may not be the same for others. I know its easy, thats why I prefer manual over auto, but some others prefer auto's over manual's, or they just don't feel the need to want to drive one. hmmmm, maybe thats why they bought an auto.....ya think?......sheesh

I have an auto, even though I'd prefer a manual...but, the only thing I could get my hands on was an auto. I won't try to make it look manual, or like an evo, but I do want to do a lot of customizing.

Good Luck with the shorter knob and let those who back you know how it goes.
