Wierd Noise?
Ive done a search for this but couldnt find nething on it. Well this has been happening for about 3 months neway whenever i turn on the car i hear a really wierd nosie coming from under my valve cover(to describe the noise... it sounds like a small fan is hitting the valve cover, im not dumb i no their is no fan under their but that is what it sounds like). I really havent paid much attention to it cause it goes away after the car warms up or i rev the engine like 3 times it might now be a biggie but i just wanna get rid of the noise its kinda annoying. Second have you guys ever heard of a watery noise when u hit the gas every now in then (sounds like some1 sucking water through a straw kinda noise) just wondering?
Thanks
Thanks
Hmm... the ticking noise you hear might be the injectors, unless you NEVER heard _this_ noise before. It could be something serious like the valves.. I'd take it to the dealer and have them listen to see if it is normal or not..
As far as the watery noise, like air being sucked thru a straw.. I have that bigtime now that I installed my header. I checked for exhaust leaks but have none. I think it is just due to the fact that the header flows so much more exhaust and it is wide open so you might be able to hear more engine noise thru the wall of the header.
It could also be your serpentine belt making that noise. Open up your hood and use your finger to push on the throttle body cable and make your engine rev, while listening to where the noise is coming from.

Ah yes...the beloved early morning crank ticking sound. Like Black said, it is very common on many vehicles. Just noisy lifters. All my vehicles I've owned had done this...the others had higher mileage though.
thanks
