Nah, I wasn't trying to scold (very much ), just pointing out that the info is out there. I haven't used a clay bar yet, but I need to once I get my car back. Between the scratches on my roof and the pine sap on my hood, my paint could use some babying.

Since it sounds like the clay bar has been decided to be the best solution, where is the best place to pick up a clay bar? Online or at a local shop?

I recently bought some claybar at the local autozone. Was kinda surprised at first that they carried it.

NO NO NO!, go to walmart and get turtle wax bug and tar remover (less than $4), it WILL NOT mess up your paint or clear coat of anything! it will get it off. i did my trunk... heres a pic!

or PoorBoys Super Swirl Remover 2.5 (SSR2.5) $10 it'll work in 1-2minutes wit no elbow grease, i've debadged a 91 corolla, a 2000 focus, and my car... its easy and both work wonders (wax after using poor boys ssr2.5 cuz it might take off old wax) the turtle wax shxt will leave a just waxed shine but takes a little longer!

(PoorBoys Super Swirl Remover 2.5 (SSR2.5) runs about $10 and if u use it on ur whole car itll take out some scratches, tar, bugs, and pretty much other blemishes, and follow up with PoorBoys Swirl Remover 1 (SR1) which isnt as abrasive, its also $10 and then wax it will leave a better than showroom shine) for about $30 the shine will last for a LONG WHILE i've done it almost 2 weeks ago and it looks like i just did it...

heres another pic
