Sticky Situation

I recently debadged the trunk of my 03 OZ. I was able to get the letters and OZ Rally sticker removed. But I can't seem to get the adhesive off. I have tried Goo Gone, WD-40, glass cleaner, and heating it enough to pull of. The stuff just won't budge!!! Any suggestions? Help me... the trunk of my g/f's ride looks like crap!

what did you use to heat it up? try using a hair drier (10-15min) and after you get all of it, or at least what you can, use a little turpatine to get the rest of it off (no it will not strip your paint-did exactly this to remove adhesive tape from my roof from satellite radio antenna). should work just fine.

i use one of these at work, it just hooks into a grinder/drill and takes off the glue w/o hurting the paint

Mike, what difference does that make? Do you have something valid to add to the thread? If not, go jack someone else's....

For the record, car is registered to g/f. I make the payments.... G/f drives it primarily.... Feel better, Mike?

It's one of those things where this same thread was posted last week. A clay bar is a bar of clay (duh) used in detailing to remove imperfections from paint. It's somewhat abraisive, so it's used in conjunction with a spray bottle of soapy water.

Don't mind the price. There are much cheaper ones.

EDIT: They claim theirs isn't abrasive. Go fig.

I'm surprised none of that stuff worked. I used WD40 and had no trouble getting it off. But it also dulled the paint in that spot. Seeing how many chemicals you used, I shudder to think of what your GF's is going to look like. As said above, clay bar is the only thing to use, unless you plan on repainting your car.
