Why do our cars suck for comfort on longer drives?
Hear of this problem coming up in some Evo forums. Some have tried getting a lower seating bracket (of course, with aftermarket seats). They have all seemed satisfied after the fact.
i am 5'7 and 139lbs with really short legs so i'm all smudged up in the dash...it kind of sucks be a shortie...overall i can't complain about discomfort of the seats so much as i would about my knee starting to ache and throb after 2hrs.
That sounds like the solution for me. I'm going to have to look into getting a lower seat bracket and maybe some nice sparko seats. Anybody have any reviews on the no-name ebay seats?

No name seats are seats that have not been safetied or approved by any recognized organisation. Save a few $$$ and buy something safe.
Hey Slovak,
I' haven't done a lot of long drives, but I have definitely noticed a difference in what shoes I am wearing. When I wear my running shoes with a big soft heel, I have found that operating the gas pedal gets very tiresome on the back part of my heel. It's simply that I have to put my foot into a different position to get the ***** of my feet on the pedal. My work boots (LLBeans hikers) I simply can't drive in because there is NO pedal feel.
I have found that my cross trainers (an old pair) and my Teva's are great for driving. Simply put, there is no heel on either pair.
The short of it is, try different pairs of shoes.
A cruise control would be nice, but hey, it's an Evo.
As far as lumbar support, nots of people will use a thin throw pillow in the small of their backs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Evo VIII seat are a direct bolt-on to our '02-'03's, correct? In that case, RPW and some others have offered lower seating brackets. I picked up some Tenzo R rally sports that are good for track usage, but probably aren't as physical pleasing as Sparco/Bride/Recaro/etc. Good luck though.

Cruise would help, but it brings up a whole new set of problems. It absolutely sucks on my car and I've posted my thoughts on it else where in one of the Evo complaint threads. It is almost unuseable, unless the road is perfectly flat and devoid of traffic. You get compressor surge, jerky motion, and over compensation. Might be why they left it out.
EDIT: whoops, just noticed you were driving an ES. Just get cruise added. around 3 bills I think.
