?Oldest piggyback install?

So I have been doing my homework on piggyback units from RRM and have heard pros and cons, but what I haven't found is how good they are in the long run. So this thread is simple:

List the month and year of your piggyback unit install so that we can see who has had one the longest.

Also, if you haven't had any problems, please say so.

Probably to see if the ECU has learned around the tunes. Otherwise it's pretty stupid.

like i said.... i want to know how they perform in the long run. I've heard a lot of people say that it learns over time and smoothes out, but just figured it would be interesting to see if the guys that have had them the longest are doing fine and have no problems.

Yeah, but it smoothing out the idle isn't a bad thing (I think we are misunderstanding each other). I just wanted to see if there were any problems in the cars that have had these the longest and there don't seem to be. That is all I wanted to see.

Unless someone has something bad to say about the long-term use of the piggy, I think that I am going to order one soon.

I have had my pb installed for about 6 months now and I still have to start the car twice on most occasions, the idle has smoothed out but did take about a month of driving. the gas mileage has suffered a little also. you have to pay to play. All in all I have to say that it has never really given me any problems and is definately worth the investment.

There shouldn't be any detrimental long term effects on the piggyback because it won't cause any excessive wear, but as Hobie said, some people are wondering if the ECU learns around it. I doubt that heppens either, since the piggyback actually changes the parameters it is looking for, but it's possible. I can't say anything about the actual piggy, but I had a reflashed ecu (RRM's predecessor to the piggy) in my car for almost 2 years and it never seemed to undo itself. It was great.
