Evo or not to Evo that is the ?

Finding myself stuck in a rut here in Canada and with the lack of any hard evidence that we will see the Evo soon. I have started to think heck why not go with the ughgh oz rally. Yes I know its just the baby version of the real car and yes it looks rather similar but still not enough for my taste. Hell I dont know what to do so I guess I will leave it up to you!

Should I get the Oz Rally and live with it for now?
Should I bite my and get it when it finally comes to Canada?
Or should I get the baby Oz and trade it in when I the Evo comes to Canada?

From a financial standpoint, its really up to you to decide, not anyone else. I mean, will you be able to easily afford the EVO or will it mean sacrificing a lot of other stuff. And if you do decide to get the OZ first and then trade it in for an EVO, are you willing to take the loss and depreciation on the OZ?

Personally I'd save more money for a down payment. By next year I'll have more of a down payment than the year before. But if you really need a car now, just get the Lancer Ralliart since the O-Z will be replaced by it...Then it's up to you from there, either give it up when the Evolution arrives or keep it and live with it.

yeah I know the $ issue. Well $ doesnt buy happiness and being a motorhead makes me happy. Without having something worth driving that makes you feel good heck its not worth driving at all.

Cars I have owned in my life

1: my first car 78 vw Rabbit (yeah I know kick me down but heck it was fun)
2: my second car 1970 chevelle ss (the love of my life)
3: 84 Mustang ls 5.0 (had a bad spell here just got married and car was second inline so was a sacrafice)
4: 92 Taurus sho (kids we have kids now yay heres the family sedan)
5: 92 Cougar XR7 wife let me get something to drive while she got the 2000 Windstar. Damn woman gets the new car and I get the old kitten.

6: Dunno up to you guys I am soooo screwed up over this I even test drove a wrx today.

I noticed a couple points at the ralli art umm we wont be getting that one untill after the evo here. Heck Mitsubishi up here just opened up and we dont get squat from them yet sept the regular grind cars. After all I guess us Canadians dont matter in the American market.

If you're a die-hard Evo fan, then wait and pay the 30 grand. But if you just want something like Evo (turbo charge, AWD), then look into WRXs, they're readily out there and cheaper than the Evo. Or, if you don't mind used cars, 3000gt VR4 and Eclipse GSX would be pretty nice, they're both turbo charged and AWD, and they're still But if you want a new car that can go rather quick, look into the cheaper alternatives like the Nissan SE-R, Dodge Neon SRT-4 (whichever one has the turbo charger), Hyundai Tiburon V6, or Mazda 6 V6.

If you have a car to get around for now, just wait for the Evo. It will be worth it. That's what I've been doing for 5 years now. Only one year left.

Yeah, I just bought an OZ, and I was talking with my sales guy while they were getting the final paperwork ready, and it looks like we'll have the EVO here in canada beginning of 2004. At least that's what he said

If I could afford one, I'd be waiting.

If you want performance, wait for the Evo or buy some other sports car.

If you want a nice looking four door, get the OZ.

The performance difference is like night and day, considerably greater then the difference between a base model civic and a civic si. We're talking about a Turbo AWD monster in comparison to a dressed up 4 door.

Buying an OZ now and then switching to an Evo later will end up costing you an additional $5-8k in the change. New cars depreciate hard, and if you the OZ doesn't satisfy you entirely, or you decide to change to an Evo in one years time you will lose alot of money.

I would either wait and get the Evo if that's what you want, or buy the STi that is easily comparable (possibly better) than the Evo.

If you need a car now and you love cars like the rest of us on here, but can't afford the STi then get either the WRX or the Neon SRT-4. Both are bad cars and easily satisfy the gearhead crave...

There..problem solved!

Three words... all wheel drive
Three letters... WRX

Murch, I will wave to you on the QEW on my way from Buffalo to Toronto.
$30,000 US that equals aboot $100000 Canadian right?

Sorry, I had to rub it in a little.

Agreed....you will take a HUGE hit when you have to trade in....SEVERAL thousand dollars worth. Can you accept that?
