About exhaust

Okay just got some new stuff for my cars and now ready for some more. I was planning to get an exhaust from when i 1st got my car but i havent actually had the time to buy(or the money) but neway i have done my research and i know which one im going to get which is the Greddy Evo II (and noone can change my mind ) but the part im concerned about is the custom bumper work im think im going to have to do. question is do i have to do custom bumper work or no and if yes what? I know how hard it is to take off exhaust very frustrating...maybe because i was taking one off a 1984 mercedes 190e edition...shivers 21yr old rust.

Though I haven't got the same muffler, the modification I believe it will require is shaving a little bit from the un-seen part underneath the muffler cut-out section of the bumper.

A dremel or other closely related small grinding tool could be used...

I had to do the same when I put my exhaust on. All I did was cut some of the bumper. You cant see it because its up and under the bumper.

A dremel with a cut-off disc works well. Be sure to wear some gloves because the hot plastic will make your hand look mangled! (learned the hard way)

Well since you already have your mind made up, it doesn't matter that you wouldn't need to do anything but bolt up the Magnaflow catback and be done!! Good luck with the Greddy!!!

I have a Greddy exhaust and i love it I had no problems on install. The tip fit right into that bumper cut out with no rubbing. I got my exhaust when my car was fairly new so removing the bolts was not a problem. I don't know how old your car is ( your screen info says you have an '02 - i have an '03 ) but use PB blaster on the bolts and soak them good. You shouldn't have much trouble after then. Good luck.

Thanks for the input guys man i dumb i forgot i had a dremel already lol. When it finally come to cutting the bumper ill just wing and keep shaving till it fits (unless some1 has the measurements of how much i should cut ). Also i thought the SP2 was for the EVO only. Has any heard of the exhaust actaully melting the bumper from touching?

I've read a few posts on this site where people complained about their bumper melting.

yea ive heard of that hear and there do you think that happens because of lack of spacing of bumper and exhaust or because ppl's bumper is actually touching the exhaust

I'd guess that they are actually touching. If there is a little gap around for air to move through I'd think it would keep it from melting.
