is it me or does the 02 lancer oz have 2 cats??

 

yes it has 2 cats, 1 in the stock manifold, and one after the downpipe

 

It has a warmup cat in the exhaust manifold and one after the downpipe. Next time please search first.

 

will i pass admissions if i take the one before the down pipe off??

you mean emissions? no it wont, to pass emissions without the 1st cat you will have to flip around your second cat or solder in a mil eliminator into the 2nd o2 sensor.

 

There are about 40 dozen threads in which this is addressed. A search would turn up any of them. Chances are if you've noticed it, thought of it, or anything along those lines we probably have a dozen threads on it.

 

You will pass if you have none here in Michigan. If michigan started doing that BS, I'd move to a different state. Either that or create some sort of quick insertable cat. haha.
