Affects of Evo8 on Lancer

Anyone else feel that since the EVO 8 is out, that the aftermarket parts in the future will drop or cease for the lancer?? I'm pretty sure more companies would rather come out with parts for the Evo then the Lancer....

Demand will be the determining factor. Think people will stop buying/driving/tuning Lancers just because the Evo's out? I really doubt it. In fact, depending upon how the public reacts to the VIII, there may be even MORE buyers of regular Lancers in the younger age brackets.

IMO there are still gonna be plenty of Lancer owners to fuel the demand for the aftermarket parts. As long as the demand is there, then the supply will be. This is America, if someone is willing to buy, then someone is willing to sell, no matter what it is.

Hey guys, quote me on this, after The Fast and the Furious 2 comes out, everyone will want an Evo. Too bad its limited in number and its 30 grand. So that means people will compromise and get the cheaper Lancer. Buckle your seatbelts kids, because after that movie hits the Lancer will become more Ricey than any of us could have imagined, lol. Seriously, I think the aftermarket support will increase in the future for the regular Lancer, for better or worse.....

True, but the Lancer they have on the movie isnt going to look exactly like ours. Its ricered out. See you poor guys in Cali dont know how much I have it made out here. I will have the first Evo in the state next to maybe one or two others. Plus, no emisson laws, so I can upgrade it without worrying about the po po. The tracks this year are going to be sweet, but everyone here in my area will be wanting to race me because of the the Fast and Furious movie. Gotta get my upgrades so I can hold up our name of the EVO!!!!

And I do believe that Lancers will become quite the popular item. Good thing the first batch is in limited number of 6000.

i think there will be more parts comming out!! not many people can afford the EVO. so you buy the ES or OZ. its KINDA like people buy EX and DX civcs and put 'SI' on it, kus they cant afford and actual SI...or type r. buy the crappy (or cheaper version) and just upgrade it..in the case of civics, juss rice it out. was that a good analogy? i think so

Unfortunately, I think the release of Fnf2 will increase parts available to our Lancers. I say unfortunately cuz they're gonna be meaningless altezzas, graphics kits, evo decals, turbo noisemakers, etc. instead of what we have now; a limited, but quality selection of intakes, exhausts, turbo kits, etc.

Heh, true. Although I think we will have a bunch more parts from 2F2F, I think it is going to bastardize the car. Around here every other car is either a Mustang or a Civic. I hope I don't ever have to add the name "Lancer" to that list...
