Question fixing oz wing holes?!?!?

I have a 03 oz, I want to put a evo 7 wing on. There is a hole where the center pillar of the oz wing is that isnt used for the evo 7 wing. When you go to fill it in and paint it do they just sand around it and paint the spot or do they have to paint the whole trunk lid? I searched and couldnt find info on this exactly. Ive seen many oz's on here with the wing so one of yah must be able to answer this. and when you painted your wing. what did yah pay. thx in advance!

Sometimes they can blend in the paint, sometimes not. Lots of factors that determine that.

I tried searching, almost any combo of words i could think of for this on this site, didnt see anything. but im hopeing they can just blend, lot cheaper. My lancer is red so that may make it difficult.

best way is to paint the entire trunk, but they could wet sand the area around it and blend into it. And yes, you'd save a lot of cash by having all your body parts painted at the same time. That's why I try not to tease all the Civics in my area that drive around with primered body kits for months or years!

I used a rubber grommet.

Before that I had a piece of blue tape that just covered the hole on rainy days.

If you got the cash, I say shoot for some body work to get it patched up. Unless you wanna take a walk on the wildside and play with some sandpaper, bondo, and a OEM paint pen.

ROCK told me to just use a rubber seal as well, im thinking like 250-300 to fix trunk and paint wing, and if i get new k2 bumper painted at same time it will help out the costs

If your good with body work you can fill the hole yourself and then just have it painted for like $150 or maybe even less.

i was just curious... if you put the rubber in and then filled it with bondo and used touch up paint.. would that be a problem? i'm just wondering why no one ever tried using rubber AND bondo..?
