Couple MORE Questions for the New Kid on the Block...

Ok, I've searched around the forums, and haven't really found any direct answers for my questions, so here they go:

1) I'm very interested in the RRM Stage 2 Turbo Kit -- What kind of boost can I run with STOCK internals? If I upgrade my pistons and rods, won't I have to run race gas 24/7?

2) I'm also interested in converting my halogen bulbs to HIDs -- are the 4500k HID bulbs a big improvement over stock? Also, will the Cedia headlight upgrades from RRM work well with the HID kit?

3) Another thing with the Stage 2 kit -- Is it going to make my reliability go to hell, or keep it decent?

4) Where is a good site besides TireRack to look for wheels? -- I'm interested in upgrading to 17s in the near future, are they going to cause any rubbage?

Thanks again.

that's a decent thread on headlights....i believe the max boost our g94's can handle on stock internals is around 9psi. i know the RRM stage I kit start you at 7psi. you'd be better off just calling and talking to them. they'd be able to answer your questions better....or you can look in the US Lancer Forced Induction threads. you'd find more information there then in the generals.

I'll let those with turbo answer those questions. But about the rims, if you like retail try Discount Tire. Online, personally I'd start with Ebay (good buying experience with Detail-Works). No rubbing issues with 205-40-17's on my Roja 17's.

People with the HID kits will all tell you they love them. As far as the JDM Cedia headlights, there is re-wiring needed anyways; so you could get them to work no matter.

Hope this gets you started.

The only reason people use race gas is for the ability to boost more. The octane rating indicates its ability to resist detonation. You can run 91 and just run lower boost (higher boost heats the charged air causing more detonation thus the need for race gas when you boost more or an intercooler)

#2... ANY HID is an upgrade over stock.... Stock just sucks! u mine as well drive blind folded... i just bought 8000K... best lighting mod ever!.. dammm i can SEE now!!!! oh and btw... rrm doesnt Sell cedias.... they just sell black OEM housings.... the real deal cedias are rare.. you might find some on ebay on occasions.. but they are pretty pricey... and they are so worth it!!

#4... I ALWAYS reccomend WheelsNext.com i've bought 2 pairs of rims from them so far... i only sold my 1st pair (gunmetal) so i could jump on the Gloss black bandwagon! lol got my new 17" gloss black rims w/ polish lip for 899 Shipped!... oh yeah tires included (205/40/17) i just upgraded my tires to a thicker size.. so my previous ones will be on ebay
the other rim site that seems reasonable is wheelmax.com... never bought from them.. but others on this forum have and are pretty satisfied with the bang for buck factor.

i hope an old evoM vet like me helped you out!

stock stage 1 intercooled RRM starts you off at 6.5psi(safe to run 7lbs.)
I have been able to boost 9psi on stock internals stage 1 but have some supporting mods plus gas down here is 93(a little better than 91)
