I been wanting a lancer for awhile...then some day while driving on the freeway, some guy driving very fast didnt stop on time and rear ended me..... i had a 91 Ford escort with 355,569 miles and it was still running clean.... then i got some money from the guy insurance to fix the Escort, but all it needed was to fix the rear bumper and that gave me alot of extra cash. Then I found some guy selling a 03 Lancer with 40k miles for $5,000 because he didnt want it anymore so I took before anyone got to it..Im going to have it till the end...the escort is still running to..trying to see if it will make it to 400,000 miles.

I guess it was during the winter/spring of 2002, I was just surfing the web looking for a new car. I was currently driving a Duster(..hey it was a cheap first car... ) anyways I came across a yellow OZ. I thought it look awesome. I knew that was the car I wanted and in the same color. So Aug. 02 comes around and I go with my dad to the dealer to check it out, test drove one and.................

A week later I came home in a 03 Thunder Gray ES ......didn't get the Yellow OZ.

I bought a 96 saturn sc2 my junior year of high school for 2,000 and loved it. it was manual and had a nice red paint job. Last year the motor mounts went, and the muffler, and the clutch so I got that all replaced and "gave" it to my brother if my dad would split a downpayment on a newer car. We went to carmax and I fell in love with a thunder gray 04 oz manual. It was 13,500 with only 6k on the clock, which was way over what we were prepared to pay for a car, but I went with it anyway and worked all summer to pay my dad back.

haha i went to the mitsu dealer a block down to see if we could get a better deal on a lancer and the salesman tried to tell me that an OZ is just a slight step down from the evo. i walked out and went back to carmax

it's been great to me ever since except for that one time my power steering went in the snow and i went into a curb (please don't do this, control arms and rims are expensive). can barely see the scratches though! The car is really easy to mod which is great cause its my first car to mod. Im really happy with it overall. I feel kind of spoiled having a nice car at 20, but then I go on the evo boards and read about 16 year olds trying to decide between 350z's and sti's and evo's and i'm just glad i'm not that bad

i got my 03 Lancer es 11 months ago from where i work with 38K for 8200$. MY dad bought it for me after i had to be removed from their insurance or they would have gotten a major increase. Now i am selling it to my cousin so i can get a Manual yellow OZ after a failed planning of making mine manual. To much money for the hasle and the OZ is worth more and has the side skirts etc.

Long story short! I've loved EVOs since I can remeber prolly when the EVO III came out, but all time fave is the VII! I got hit by a red truck and I went and bought a Yellow automatic Lancer OZ. They had a manual, but it was Red. No red for me! It's probably a keepr until I get done with school again and start making games!!!

oK, i used to have a 79 280zx..I loved that car...it was a blast to drive, pretty torquey for the old motor too. But unfortunantly, fate took it upon itself to mess up the engine and tranny ( might have been partially my fault ) so i was in need of another car. I liked nissan, so i was checking out the se-r spec v's. I went to maybe 3 nissan dealerships, only one of them had a used se-r in my price range but the guy tried to screw me, 2000 down and 400 a month for a sticker price of 12,500... I laughed in his face and walked away. So i went to one last nissan dealership, then, i was discouraged, but saw a mitsu dealership across the street so i walked there. I didn't really see anything, but then i noticed my black 04 oz ..sitting there all purdy. I must have passed by it like 5 times, checking it out until i really looked at it. My friend was with me and i called him over...13,500 sticker price??? HMMM i admit i didn't really know much about the different models on lancers, i knew about the evo...but not really the other models. I took it for a test drive, ...my friend was kind enough to launch the car to see if it had traction control ( that bastard ) I liked it, 04 oz rally, sun and sound package, with only 19000 miles...paid 13000 with 1500 down payment. I'm very satisfied with my car to this day and sooooooooooo glad i didn't get the se-r...although it may be faster

1st post here so bear with me..

Today is what? Weds the 14th.. I got the lancer 2 days ago.. 6-12-06. Here's my novel of a story..

If you couldn't tell by my user name I actually have an 2002 Yamaha R1. Well this thing is my daily driver. Though my company keeps hinting twards the fact that a bike as a primary isn't a good thing.. I need to be able to take equipment around if needed.. (I am in field support for my company)

Well the wife drives a Bronco with 11" of lift on 40" tires and we have a 93 Chevy C1500 sport package that I just had the motor replaced, but need to do a couple things to do...

Well tired of getting 9 MPG on family trips with the bronco, and not having A/C. So the wife and I decide it time for a 4 door car..

Most of you will prolly get mad, but my first choice has always been a WRX. The only reason I chose the lancer is because it's a lot cheaper the the WRX.. I figure I'll pay this thing off and trade it in for an STI later down the road..

Well monday around 2:30 I left and the wife and I went to look at a yellow OZ at a small dealer but when we got there the car wasn't there.. The manager said it was around the corner, so we follow him over there and we end up going to a body shop... Well that kind of spooked me.. I did look at the car and it was real nice on the inside, had an exhaust, intake and short throw shifter already installed.. I really wanted that car, but could not let myself buy it.. To shady.. Why would they be painting the whole car? The carfax was clean, but who knows what had happened to it..

So I roll to a big dealership and found another Lancer.. Gray, 5 speed.. Test drove it, talked them down on their price and the wife liked it so we got it..

No big fancy story on how I rolled up on a dealership and saw it standing out from a crowd of other cars.. Just needed a 4 door that gets good gas milage and has good A/C. Don't plan on modding it to much..

Except I want a short throw shifter, and possibly a mild exhaust.. It is plenty fast for my needs..

Plus if I want to go fast I'll just do that on my R1. My modding cars habit is done for now.. (Unless I decide to get another MR2... loved those cars)

anyhow.. /novel-off

Me too. I had a 90 Oldsmobile Cutlass and I was getting tired of 17 mpg, so I started looking for an se-r, they were too much so I bought my 02 es for $4800 with 64k miles. I get 30 mpg now but my olds was faster.

my mom had an 04 ES which i drove to school. then, she got me a 01 Saturn SL2 for christmas in 05 which i drove till august of 06. i got some settlement money and i went to the Mitsu dealership with my mom. originally i was looking for a used car, but the salesman said he could put me in a new one for $2,500 down. so i saw a 06 Labrador Black Pearl ES and said "okay!" sadly, i got hit when it was just 12 days old but i still love my even though the damage still isn't fixed!

Rolled my Civic Hatch at the track(wasnt street legal anyway)and split the block on the MR2 so i was forced to suffer with an Eagle Vision (full sized sedan). It was fun especially with the 75 shot but was too big and the tranny kept eating one of the gears (they told me that if i welded it it wonuldnt happen again). But then i saw my Yellow OZ. At the time there were no plans to bring the Evo to the states so i jumped on the OZ thinking this will be the closest ill ever get. That was Sept '01. Mine was the second Lancer off the lot. Paid 18,600 all said and done. Had i waited 3 months i coulda gotten 0% financing. Oh well sh*t happens.
