ECU help

Ok, so here's my issue...i fried my car a few months back after hooking up my battery cables on the wrong terminals (yippie) so i called around a few junkyards and checked out things...so here's my question...

is the ecu the brain?

i purchased the "brain box" from a junkyard for $100

i also noticed there's a "front ecu" in our fuse box under the hood, what exactly does that do. after replacing the "brain box" my cars idle ran normal, i'm still having problems though with getting my headlights, dash lights, dome light, tail lights and my reverse lights to come on...all lighting seems to have vanished, my windows work, my warning lights work but nothing else. also, my keyless entry doesn't work either..any ideas? anyone? tomorrow it's going into the dealership, i'm totally lost...

I'll dig through my FSM and see what I can find in the wiring diagrams

looks like that 'front-ecu' does indeed control all the lighting on the car, along with the windshield wipers, those working?

fuses were the first thing i checked, my brother checked the front ecu as you can take the cover off. everything checked out fine, we checked the wiring to everything as well, not melted...something weird and wack is up, i just dropped it off at the dealership to have it checked out along with some warranty work.
