engine swap with 04 lancer?

i know this may sound stupid but is it possible to swap 02-03 engines with the new 04 lancer? do they have the same engine? 4g94? this may sound stupid but i need intelligent answers pls.

The new Lancer has a 4G63 motor the same as the old eclipse GSX

which 04 lancer are you talking about? the evo answer not likely. The ralliart with the mivec engine? or the stock lancer with the same engine?

details needed before you will get an answer would be my guess

im not talkin about the evo8..... im talkin about the fugly 04 cross-breed of sunfire lancer... is that the ralliart lancer? whatever you call it... i just wanna know if its possible..

If you got the skill, time and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ you could swap just about any of the above.

since we don't know exactly how the engine will be oriented, the answer is "maybe, wait and see."

Once the Ralliart Lancer comes out and we can poke around under the hood, we'll find out how easy it will be.

I imagine it would cost a good deal of money to do an engine swap with a brand new engine. If you've got that kind of money lying around, why not just go turbo?
