SES Light question

I did a search and couldn't find the answer to my question, The SES light that comes on due to the install of headers to the lancer is only sensing something wrong with emissions and does it also comes on if you dont tighten the gas cap fully. I wanted to know if this light ever comes on for a serious problem with your car or just emission?......also, with the headers, will it always stay on or go off after a certain amount of miles........I wanted to know this because i was thinking of just removing that bulb from the gauge cluster so i wouldnt have to see it all the time but wanted to know if it ever went off and if it comes on for major problems. Thanks.

So, if i have a header and experience a major problem, i wouldnt know about it? What are other options i have of elimating the light without removing the bulb?

Spark plug anti foulers, 02 simulator, just search for either one of them and you will find your answer.

MIL eliminator or 02 simulator install:
-get under your car
-cut couple of wires
-connect
-properly seal
-enjoy

And yes, any performance shop should be able to do it. Don't just go to a muffler shop because they will not know what to do.

Well it is just an annoying light and thats the reasons that i basically wanted to know if it would be a good idea to simply pull out the light bulb.
