As long as the SRS light isnt on (Most Hub Adaptors, have a plug to disable it)
I dont think itll be a problem. Dont quote me on that though, I may be wrong.

Uh, I don't think it'll pass the visual inspection.

But more importantly, you'll probably throw a SRS light because the bag isn't hooked up.

So no, you won't pass.

If you can find an aftermarket wheel with an airbag, I'll be amazed.

Last I checked, it was just a couple bolts holding it on.

A few exist, but they're extremely expensive.

Removing airbags is like removing seat belts IMO. You're just asking for it.

^ Exactly. When a car is equipped with airbags, the seatbelts are designed to work in conjunction with them. So if you remove the airbag, you are making a death trap out of your car. And I can't think of any state that would still allow that on the road. I doubt they have an inspection for it, but you can be cited for tampering with a safety device. Not to mention you'd be liable for major lawsuits if you ever sold the car after that.

So yeah, even though the aftermarket wheels with airbags are more expensive, you should go for one of those and nothing else!

State inspection is one thing, but removing an airbag is a federal offense as well. It's one of the FMVSS that has nothing but benefits IMO.
