Airbag
Airbag
Sounds like a n00b question...but i searched and couldnt find an answer so...will changing a stock steering wheel with airbag to an aftermarket wheel make the car fail inspection? im registered in VA just to let u know.
Uh, I don't think it'll pass the visual inspection.
But more importantly, you'll probably throw a SRS light because the bag isn't hooked up.
So no, you won't pass.

Culpeper County and i have no idea how they do the inspection, that's kinda what im asking.
ok...second question(btw..thanks guys) how hard is it to replace a stock steering wheel with an aftermarket? if i buy one i would make sure it doesnt throw a light...but if it doesnt, it should pass, right?

Last I checked, it was just a couple bolts holding it on.

Removing airbags is like removing seat belts IMO. You're just asking for it.

^ Exactly. When a car is equipped with airbags, the seatbelts are designed to work in conjunction with them. So if you remove the airbag, you are making a death trap out of your car. And I can't think of any state that would still allow that on the road. I doubt they have an inspection for it, but you can be cited for tampering with a safety device. Not to mention you'd be liable for major lawsuits if you ever sold the car after that.
So yeah, even though the aftermarket wheels with airbags are more expensive, you should go for one of those and nothing else!
