Metric Gauges...

Ok I was thinkin',
Canada also uses the Metric system... So Im assuming that the OZ Gauge Bezzle would be True JDM being that its all in Km and not Mph (so, the Km are dominant, with the Mph minituriazed below).

Im gonna post in the WTB Section, but figured this would be seen first, and probably replied to first as well...

Anyone in Canada have White OZ Gauges they wanna trade or sell?

If Im worng forgive me, and enlighten me... Thanx

I could be wrong, but I think the OZ and Es guages are different, and calibrated as such. Take a quick look at your ES guage and tell me if the speedo goes up to about 130 mph (not km, miles) if so, then I'm wrong. If not, you'd have to recalibrate it for the OZ guages. Either way, best of luck and have fun reading km instead of miles!

I'm not sure if you're allowed to run KM in the US (I've people say that when you import a car from Japan you have to switch to imperial gauges). Also the odometer would be in kilometers not miles so you'd be screwed there as well.

The US Gauges on the ES go up to 120mph...
Both mph and km are designated on the gauges.
If you look youll see that (on the US) Mph are dominant, but right beneath it are the km. Im assuming it would just be reversed on the foreign clusters...right?
Heres what Im thinking... EG: 20mph = (Est of the top o' my head) around 40km... So if I swapped for a metric unit (assuming its working correctly) then when Im traveling at 20mph, itll just read 40km. All I have to do, is look at the needle on the Mph beneath the Km.

So I guess the only question would be:
"What mod must I do to record travel in miles rather than km?"
Where/How does this device exactly register the distances, what can be done?

You don't have to calibrate it.

Btw JVlancer swapped a JDM Evo VII gauge cluster.

Its that easy, 1 mile=1.6km so the only numbers that actually l"ines up" on the cluster is 100 km/h and 60mph. Again, don't forget the mileage problem, its illegal to display a value that is not equal to the actual mileage of the vehicle. What's going to happen when you go for an inspection?

It's like Nitrous, when you go for inspection... take out the bottle!
I'll just plug my old gauges back in, it only take a minute...

? Except your mileage will be way off, and they may quickly notice how for some odd reason you're only putting a few hundred miles on every few years/months and get suspicious.

But you can claim that the odometer is broken and make a claim on what the meter SHOULD read.

This doesn't seem like a very good idea, that jdm evo set doesn't even have the small mph under it

bad idea

edit: and i don't think mph is shown under km on their gauges, i think we display km because everyone else uses it, for them displaying mph wouldn't be a big issue because we're the only idiots that use it
