HAHA! my mom jus said the weirdest thing...
well i told my mom for my new car i want to get the lancer evo when it comes out. well shes like ok whatever. then she finds out its a mitsubishi and that it was rated only 3.7 outta 5 so shes like...dont get the mitsubishi get a mercedes or acura instead. HAHAHA my mom wants to get me an even more expensive car jus cuz she thinks mitusbishis are garbage. well for my new car...im either getting the lancer evolution(about 85 percent sure) or gettin a bmw 3 series(the other 15 percent) most likely a 325i or possibly a 330i. are mitsubishis really that bad? and have such a bad reputation of being ****ty cars?
Yeah I had the same Question.
I have been driving my integra for about two years and it has started up every time. It has never had any mechanical work needed.
Can someone please answer the question: Are Mitsubishi a reliable car?
I need this question answer because I want to know if I should save my money for the Evo, RSX type-r, or the STi.
Anyway thanks.

I agree
is much better than any american car on the market right now I've had my OZ for for over 3 months now and it still feels brand new also growing up we had a Pajero, you guys over here have the Montero and it never gave us a problem and we took it off-roading several times
value for money
is the way to go the only other car in it's league is the impreza

i don't think
is more reliable than hondas tho (also my mechanic's opinion)
but it sure beats any old ford or chevy in reliablility.
man! you spoiled ***** you evo penguin!
j/k, its all good.
if i had to chooe between 330i or a Lancer........it'll be a tough choice.
For the money of a 330i, u can really pimp out a Lancer. and the lancer is faster too. But........its very hard to pass up a BMW!
my 2 cents

Hmmmm
I've had my Eclipse GS-T since Dec 1996. Other than routine maintenance and add-ons, I've had no problems. I've got about 80k miles on it now.
I heard that there was some hubbub with recalls on some of the models and what not. I tend to think they are reliable as anyoneelse.

well as said compared to acura and subaru, yeah its there. But against honda and toyota? and maybe nissan (i dunno) it is no where close. The amount of recalls Mitsubishi had over some odd years was unbelieveable. Checkout www.edmunds.com new articles and read the one about mitsubishi, having over $70 million dollars loss in recalls.
I owned a Mitsu Pajero in Jamaica, everyone called it the lockless monster because of its lock, it was pathetic. It was like driving a buss, and just trying to come out of those tight little spots
But the evo and lancer is up to par because of the amount of money mitsu has put into their rallying development. Also remember the Pajero or Montero (can't remember which i think its both) are in rallies too. Honda just got plain old good engineers(look at the prelude), and toyota makes their cars wid good quality stuff(look at the toyota levin)...last long. Nissan u may wanna check out the old Sunny(those are built very well). Every company has a well built car I guess...so. Just depends.

Hey Plucky you're from Jamaica too!!!!! So am I, where did you do to school I'm a Georgian. Nice to see some Jamaicans online. You're right about the Pajero they do have a terrible lock but durabilty wise they are the best value for money.
Hope to see you more online

Mitsubishi reliablity?
Yeah if you are looking reliablity I would say Nissan or Honda. I have never been impressed with any Mitsubishi stock besides the Lancer Evo. The new 01 Eclipse GTs (v6) are slower then poo and my old 92 240sx (4 cylinder rwd) with no mods or anything beat the hell outta the GT. The GT even had cold air intake and underdrive pulley along with completely catback exhaust. Part of his problem was a big stereo system, but still the stock ones couldnt hang. Same with the Honda Prelude. The Preludes can hang with the old 240 with the Vtech kicked in but still pretty sad to have a car 10 years old that still out performs "up-to-date" sports cars. Honestly Nissan has always been the impressive one to me. The Maxima is an amazing piece of machinery and I would say one of the first TRUE sport sedans on the US market. The new Altima is definitely taking its place up there now too. And if you are going for the BMW either get a M5 or 550i. I know a guy that dynoed with one he just put a supercharger on that is pushing 450 hp at the flywheel and almost 375 at the wheels. Running Low 12s at 120 mph. And although that may not be the most massive amount of HP if you look at the torque you are talking raw power. 404 lbs of torque in that puppy. It just pulls and keeps pulling. This 540 has been known to spank brand new 911TTs before. And if you got an M5... Lord almighty believe THAT ****!!
