I was reading an old Car and Driver the other day...
and they had a battle of the Economy sedans and it featured a Lancer they were satisfied with the ES Long story short they said that they would have liked to get there hands on the 2002 O.Z. edition with tighter suspension, trim, with a Galant engine. Now I know there is no way us O.Z. owners have a Galant engine under the hood, so was this a planned thing but eventually scrapped? Is it possible to do a Galant engine swap? Would it be worth the money?

just decided to put the same 4G94 in the O.Z. "Rally" . . .You could do the engine swap, but it would probably cost you $10,000 and you'd be better off with a different car.

Unlike the RS I have now - if I had $5k , I'd get a WRX motor dropped in ASAP.
Or my Camaro - there are probably four engines in my dad's garage that I could drop in tomorrow.

I think all of 1 person, in a while 4.5 years that www.lancerforums.com has been around.
and 1 person with a front clip off an evo.

Just because someone can do something doesn't mean everyone can do it.

yeah the one guy that did the evo 6.5 TME swap spent roughly 12,000 USD total. Its still something he can say hes the only one to have that done here. and its still FWD. not a bad thing though. but even if he put that $12000 with the price of his lancer ES it still wouldnt have matched the price of an evo.
