Some Lancer Questions *HELP*

I'm looking to get my first car and I was looking at a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally. Here's one I'm considering
Is that good value?
Also how does the Lancer handle? is it nice? Worth it?
Finally, I'm 6'3 so will this be a problem fitting in the lancer, and how is the interior? Thanks!
EDIT: I have seen Rally editions in Automatic but when I do further research they make it sound like its only manuel. Can I get a 2002 lancer OZ rally automatic or is only manuel?

I sold mine for $5600 a few months ago. Mileage was 55xxx and it was stick.

They're nice little cars. Come fully equiped with power and all that. It's a decent little car.

I'm 5'10", so I can't give you perfect advice. But I felt OK with the interior. You'll want to upgrade the seats if possible. Seats from an Ralliart are a great choice, or something aftermarket.

Im 6'2'', the Lancer is a good fit if youre tall. There are ALOT of upgrade parts out there for the OZ Lancer. Shes a good car to begin with and you can pretty much make it into anything you like modification wise from show to go

Alright heres the breakdown:
you should see if they can lower the price .. maybe even 9 gs would be good ...
the handle of the car is great. i think it is one of the best things. power wise - its not that great. the only huge difference u can get is if u go turbo. another little parts wont do much... but for looks .. its great if u have the money to put into it
for ur height ... i can tell u .. if ur fat .. its a pain .. i know how it feels ...
the lancer does come in auto .. but i think u would want to go manual ... its more fun ..

overall i think the lancer is a good car ... kinda down about the power it gets ... not to lie .. i wish i would of gotten a civic or something .... the power it puts out is sad and when i tell people it only pushes 120 they laugh ...

Ouch... was anything wrong with the car or are our cars worth that little?

yea i have an 03 OZ...

i think it's a nice little car, definitely better looking than a civic, and has more torque than a civic, making it seem a little faster. gas mileage, isnt bad, but isnt great. handling of the car is pretty decent tho. i've won my class autocrossing a couple times. Just get good tires and u'll see how well this car can handle.

Aside from that, aftermarket support for this car is decent, there's a few companies out there that make Lancer specific parts and has good communication with the Lancer community.

overall, id say it's a pretty good car to get started on.

Our cars are worth that little. Resale is SH*T.

The dealer offered me $4k for trade-in.
KBB said $7k for a good condition Lancer in private sale, but after a couple months, I lowered the price.

The Lancer is my first car and I love it. One of the main reasons for going with it was the looks. I like the body style from the factory. I've learned a lot more about the car since I started looking into aftermarket parts. I know it's not fast, but it's a good car for me to start with to put some mods on and learn more about cars in general. Mine was around 9000 for an 02 in 04. It's an LS though. I would go with it. Good luck.

IT is a good car to start with. You have lots of options after you buy it if you want to personalize it. As for the particular car you show... Give them $8300. THye will go for it.

That sucks....

I've got 79XXX on my lancer and seems to me like it's worth less than the mirage it replaced.

How is that possible?

Despite its porky weight, the Lancer is a fairly decent handling car. As said above, it is a fun local contender for autocross, and imo is even more impressive on road courses and canyon runs (I had a Porsche and a Mini blown away asking me what tires I was on). The aftermarket is a little limited, but everything you could really want is out there. Is it the best little rice burner on the market? Not in my opinion, but it's one of the most unique, and it sure beats the hell out of putting another Civic on the streets!

Whenever you buy the first of a line of cars (either a new model or a redesigned one) the resale drops dramatically, and unless that model proves itself to be some miraculous feat of engineering, they stay that way. Street talk says not to buy the first year of any model because that's before they work the bugs out. OUr resale values are tapering off though, so it won't continue as harshly as it has been.

It's a pretty good car to get. I love my lancer and didn't want what everyone else had. (ie no Civic) so that's why I got a Lancer. Make it your own and it's a good car to get familiar with cars on.
