what would you rather get a 2002 US lancer
or a 1999 Eclipse(any model)

Personally I'd go with the Lancer. But if you ask us here, you'll get more people to lean towards the Lancer. As this is a Lancer Community. I could be wrong. Gotta go with the Lancer... Are you planing on buying either?

yes i went to the dealership to get a lancer and say this great eclipse for about the same price so im thinking of getting the eclipse and waiting awile to get the evo because the lancer still is my favorite car but the US is just to slow....

 

is that eclipse a gs-t or a gsx? coz thats a pretty steep price for a used eclipse.. but if i were u, i'd go with the eclipse.. alot more options for that car are available now.. but if you're patient, alot more options would be available for the lancer as well.

 

The Eclipse GSX or GS-T will outperform a stock lancer any day. You could probably get a decent GSX for same if not cheaper price of a OZ, BUT you have to remember, getting a loan to a used car is harder than getting a loan to a new car.

yep, speed goes to the eclipse... it's just that the handling makes it much more fun for the lancer. Lancers are just more fun! besides, i have my friend's 96 gsx to compare...

but in all honesty i went to the mitsubishi dealer to get an eclipse, and then saw the lancer in the show room, lancer new was 17,500 were as any eclipse that "THEY" had on the lot was no less then 19,000+, soo i was all for the new car instead of the used plus a huge insurance difference. 4 doors as opposed to 2. Then i think ... dude , supercharger, cat back, chip, headers, fuel rails, intake .... then i think again hmmmm .... Come get some Eclipse !!! NOT

 

if you are paying the same price for a 99 eclipse that you are a brand new lancer than you better took a good look at what your options are

 

na i was speaking of 00 and up not 99, maybe i missed something on the year up there. I have seen all 99's generally 14,500 and lower at dealers that is

 

u can't really compare a lancer to an eclipse....totally different class, not to mention one's a sports car and the other is a sedan.
ur like comparing a civic to prelude....or a elentra to a tiburon....or a sentra to maxima....

but if u were to compare a stock lancer with a stock RS eclipse....i'd go with the lancer.

but also, the lancer is built in jpn and imported from there, while the eclipse are made in USA/Canada. I dunno about u, but cars made in jpn are better internally...than the ones made in the US.
just a personal thought.... sooner or later, the lancer's are all going to be made in the US, so grab urs today.

 

good 99 eclipse gs-t at least 16k. I'd go with the lancer all the way, i could have got just about any import under 25k. Lancer is very original and new. Everyone and there mom's have 2nd gen. eclipse. Especially after F&F. Being original is #1 to me, performance will follow with a little more $$$

 

haha i know this guy in So Cal3g and he hates Lancer Evo's says it looks like that new Neon whatever it is that came out i told him he smokes to much funny stuff, and he also said if you drop an extra 10k into a Eclipse GT, that a evo wont touch it, isn't that extra 10k k a little redundant ?
