fluid temps

I have what may be a(nother) dumb question. Y'all have really helped me figure out my path for helping the performance of my 05 es. BTW the other lancer forums aren't NEARLY as knowledgable or helpful. Anyhow... I have automatic transmission Do I need to be concerned about xmission fluid temp, or oil temp? Is there a need to try and figure something out? Thanks again.

& not a good idea.

^Why do you think you should be concerned about fluids? Keep the mixture like it says in the manual and you should be fine.

In certain applications those fluid temperatures will be important, but I am assuming that you are just starting so those temperatures aren't going to be as important to you. Oil temperatures are designed to get hot enough to evaporate any water from condensation that may have built up while the car was sitting, but you don't want it too hot or you will burn the oil. You coolant temps can be a fairly good indicator of that. GENERALLY if you coolant is really hot, then your oil is really hot. This is not always true but most of the time. Oil pressure is important too. Tranny fluid temps you dont need to worry about since I doubt you will be doing ne mods that will require tranny upgrades, just change it regularly. Now im sure there will be 20 more posts arguing w/ what I just wrote but its just a general idea.

Doesn't the Lancer already have a oil gauge, light, something?

^Yes, I guess every car have one. It's used as an indicator to tell you when it's too late.

If you're doing some crazy modding than you will also learn what to do to prevent any damage.
If you're staying stock, follow manufacturers instructions.
