Is there a thread on here that has to do w/ removing the entire A/C assembly? I ran several searchs to no avail.

Do ppl just not remove them?

Hmm thats a pretty hardcore mod for a us lancer. I've been reading these boards for a while now and havn't come across anything specific relating to ac removal. What were you planning on doing to the car other than this? Perhaps one of the more experienced guys will see this and help you out

I'm prepping my car for a turbo install, live in canada so no need for a/c, and the more room under the hood the better.

I ahve the lighened pulley coming in to, just trying every option at removing rotating engine mass, short of power steering removal

Well I think I'm gonna go ahead and attempt this, w/ my trusty manual in hand of course.
Any sort of help would be appreciated

Haven't heard of any others doing that off-hand quite yet. Of course, lets know how it goes. Hehe, make a how-to while you're at it...

I only bi-passed the pully, the unit however is still in my car. I didnt want to remove it as I knew I would want it back in come the day I sell it. Plus when we get those days of 25+ weather I usually hook it back up. It gets mighty hot driving a black car.
If you do take it off though let me know because there are some parts in the unit that Iam in need of.

What part is it exactly on the plenium core? See right now i have my entire head off my car, rad, core, etc.so anything off those parts would not be to much of a problem. any pics? my car is in pieces, no idea how it looked while together, car was in an accident btw, being rebuilt

Surely any parts I have taken off will be available, however i do live in canada, so im not sure how easy shipping would be
