Spring question

Ok so i was going to get the basic coil overs but i didnt really want to spend 700 on it so i decided to just go with springs..but i have looked around and all the springs i found droped the front good but the back isnt droped low enough..and all i want is to get rid of the tire gap..i found some teins on ebay but the front is droped like 1.8 and the back is 1.1 and i want it to be closer to an even drop..but will rrm's progress springs be better than teins for closing tire gap? any help would be good

go with progress springs. the rear is always gonna be a little higher unless u have coilovers. that doesn't matter though because the rear wheel gap is a lot less than the front after lowering.

Progress Is The Way To Go !!! Lowers 1.8" From Front And Back. I Have Done Lots Of Reasearch On These And Found That Progress Is The Only One That Allows That Much Of Drop And Even On Both Sides.

I have the tein s tech's and the rear is a bit higher than the front but it's not really noticeable. I say go with the teins if your planning to get sounds cuz the extra weight in the rear will lower it even further. by the way Tein's have an EXCELLENT spring rate.

Go fully abjustable with sleeves (ouch, those flames hurt), like me. Drop to any desirable level.

^ yep, and a major chance that theyll end up breaking, if your going to want a certian hieght and anything adjustable, just do it right the first time and get coilovers, its worth it

^^ don't know why there's such a rep for CO sleeves. I've got Eibach / Ground Control CO's and haven't had an issue. Plus, these were used before I ever got them.

I had the Progress springs for two years. I would not recommend them to anyone. The ride quality was rough(expected) but the problem was I could never get them damn things to shut up. I would suggest the Tein S-Tech. There is also the Tein H-Tech, but the drop is small, 1.2" front and 0.5" rear.

Although you want to save money, I would suggest saving for coilovers. Our cars stock struts cannot handle lowering springs, regardless what people tell you. Do it right, or dont do it at all. Make sure you use full coilovers and NOT SLEVES. Sleves will destroy your cars shocks faster then lowering springs, it is not the proper way to do things. Its the Im a stupid ricer and buy performance parts from walmart way of doing things.

What Danno said is right. When I switched from lowering springs to coilovers, it is like comparing **** to filet mignon in how my car handled.

my brother has H-tech's on his subaru. the H-tech design is intended to maintain stock ride feel. the springs are really soft. the S-tech's are more of a performance set for those who can't afford the TEIN coilover set. i know on subaru's the S-Tech's require minor camber + alignment adjustments as well. not sure if that is true for our cars i never looked into it for the lancer because i wasn't buying them.
