Lancer engine

Hey guys ive poked arounda b it and couldnt relaly find a definite answer.
Do all Lancers have the 4G69, or do some have the 4G64?

I was wondering becuase Im doing an EVO head swap on my 2000 Eclipse and I have an RPW turbo stage 2 camshaft and spring set for sale, for a 4G64. So if you guys can use it, then im sure someone woudl jump on it.

Thanks fora ny info.

Isn't 4g69 the Mivec engine for the Ralliart?

^^yes...the 4G69 is the 2.4 SOHC mivec motor...the 4G64 is a 2.4 liter DOHC performance motor similar to the 2.0 4G63...and the regular lance engine is the 4G94 2.0 Liter SOHC

What year is your eclipse? I think that some of the older DSM's shared the engine with the Evo but you would want to check with someone who knows there DSM's better then me about that.

If my hair wasn't so short I'd pull it out because of threads like these. Only the Ralliart has a 4g69. I doubt any of them would benefit from a 4g64's head thought. SOHC MIVEC > Just plain SOHC.

And if we can't pick on them then what's the point in having them? I don't care if someone's new or old. I'll give them **** for not being able to find basic info on their own either way.

ACtually there is 2 variations of the 4G64.
DOHC found in galants and
SOHC found in the 3G Eclipse and 2G Spyders.

Thanks that helps a little bit.

And yes I know the MIVEC head is better than the 4G64 head. That wasnt my question.

The only DOHC 4G64 was in the rare '94 Galant GS. All the rest of them were SOHC for 2G Eclipse Spyders, 3G Eclipses, 7 & 8G Galants.

I searched and didnt find what I was looking for.

If you would like to show me a link that specifically states what engine is in each variation of Lancer, id be glad to read it.
