Blown engine - any ideas?

Ok guys i need some help. My engine was reciently submerged in water in a small local flood( some dick with a semi forced me off the road cause he lost control of his truck) and im wondering what options i have of getting a used engine (around 35k) or dropping in a new one and getting rid of the *lacking* stock lancner engine. Ive got a 2002 es AT. And please no "post somewhere else u newb" cause i need some up to the minute help on this one.

www.car-parts.com should have an engine for 3-500 dollars in your area that are low mileage. I got mine for 400 with 7k miles on it when My engine blew. A shop should charge 6-1200 dollars to put one in.

wow i was thinking engine replacment was going to run alot higher then around 2k. anyone kno how much trade in value i could get for my car with the engine blown, ive got 17" eneki cdr9 rims, toyo tires, cai, n some other interior stuff id like to leave on the car, cause instead of putting money into my car i might just take that leap and buy an eclipse gt, evo vii or subaru, cause ive saved up almost enough to get the rrm stage 2 kit. Any ideas ?

I dont know if it's possible or not and im sure its been covered here before but if i needed to replace my engine I would definately look into getting the ralliart MIVEC engine in there. I know there would be throttle issues to work around but not sure what else or if it would fit at all

Oh it would definately fit, and be a lot easier than some of the other swaps that would be done. If you were paying a swap to do it, I'd expect to pay maybe an extra 3-500 dollars for customizing... that said, It'd be well worth it.

hell id love to do that, id worry about modding it afterwards though. the engine bay wouldnt be the same as a ralliart or a reg lancer (i dont think so at least) so any mods would need to be customized heh

Why would you need another engine bro?Remove the spark plugs, crank your engine for a few seconds, drain the oil from the oil pan, leave the car draining the fluids. remove the intake hoses and mass air sensor and let it dry up. You don't need a new engine.

^^What he said, unless there's more to the story.

The Ralliart engine would fit and the bay is the same size as ours so modding shouldn't be a problem.

Someone on here put an evo engine in a regular lancer. You could do that. a little more expensive but hell, why not?

The only thing that depends on is if the engine is interference or non-interference. The difference is, interference engines, when the timing chain is jumped, the valves will hit the top of the pistons. If the water didn't get high enough, he is right and you can clean it all out.
