Tried it too. But went back to good old Wiskey for a little more power. Works great in a 1/5 ratio.

Piggy Ver1. So 91 octane all the time. 94 when gas station run out of 91.

I put in 87, but put in 93 ONCE to clean the injectors out at 20K miles. I teacher told me to do this and, honestly, it helped my economy more.

i'm using 89oct.

anything more than 87oct isn't going to make a difference unless your car is tuned somehow(piggyback,SAFC,Emanage ect)

the gas cap says to use regular so Use Regular, at least if its stock ... the only reason to change it to a higher octane is if you change the compression ratio by tuning

Putting in a higher octane isnt going to hurt your car, just your wallet.

Lancer - 87. Always.

---------------------------------

Subaru - 87, 88, 89, or 93. Whatever mood I'm in.

About to add a piggy, so I might have to start being consistent...

That's over $100/year for most people. I read Carlos' well informed article on octane in the CalSlam forums (before all the smap and crap started) and it basically comes down to the US Lancer (without a piggy or turbo) is fine or even BETTER with the 87 octane.

Careful of the sarcasm. I have seen all too many times people think it was a serious suggestion, try it, and wham!

93 minimum... RRM non-ic turbo kit. 94 or 103 if I go to a stations that have it--and if its reasonably priced. 103 really makes the turbo kit scream.

87 why waste money on 89-93 if it does nothing for you.
Hopefully I'll have to start throwin 93+ in there in a few weeks.

I have to say that I used to use 91 when I first bought the car, because I had nothing else pinching my wallet. Now that times are tight (I sound like a grandfather from the depression era...), I have been using the absolute cheapest stations I can find. I have never really felt a difference b/w the two. Car is all stock still, though...

I do have a concern over certain companies, however. Arco seems to put crap in their gasoline that makes it evaporate or something, and I swear their pumps lie (once read 14.4 gallons in my 14 gallon tank in the Camaro when I had estimated the need for 11-12 gallons based on mileage). For that reason, I stick to Unocal, Chevron, Shell. But that might be overdoing it.

I agree about the Arco gas, i nbever really noticed the different gallon amount, but i have heard about it. I did notice that my mileage goes down, from about 32 MPG to about 27MPG.
