mods without piggy
ok, in the next couple of weeks I'll be finishing my exhaust (RPW race headers, high flow cat, greddy muffler and resonater) I already have RRM's pod filter (hey, we buy what they're willing to sell us, right? (-- re my auto) I know I need the piggyback, with a full blown exhaust like that (ok, no TP but cops hate me, naturally, so. . .) How long can I go without the piggy (as I still need to pay off the exhaust. ..) will it really bad? I'm not gonna damage my car am I? Thanks all
You don't need the piggy, the car will be fine. All you're doing is basically opening up both ends, the car can take in more air and get rid of more waste. You're not forcing air in or changing the actual engine dynamics like cams, pistons, supercharger, turbo, etc. would.
ya like amby said you dont NEED the piggy at all unless you go turbo and need engine management. In fact your car will run smoother without it, be it less powerful. Get the piggy once youve gotten all the other bolt on mods you can and have no where else to go
see, for me its like.... i head intake and exhaust
decent....
then pig...
nice....
then rpw header...
NICE
it is like a hole nother beast to put in the equation.. it capitalizes on all ur other mods...
plus now its tunable.

if you are hesitating to buy the PB ECU then don't buy it yet. get all your other bolt on mods and think about it a little longer. it is not NEEDED but it is a nice mod to have.

I believe if you stay at the stage 1 level you don't use the piggyback but if you upgrade to stage 2 you use a modified piggyback system. For superchargers I'm fairly certain they supply their own form of management.
