breaking the 300hp mark

This is not entirely true... RRM achieved that on stock rods and JE pistons with the AEM and a 20G turbo.
Now we are dropping in a completely built engine and teaming up with RPW to hopefully achieve 350-400whp. That's a few months out though as we need to do a lot of tuning.

It should be possible, but it won't be easy or cheap. I would guess you'll need to basically completely rebuild the engine if you want to be safe (and I hope you do) which means new pistons, rods and maybe get a new head and cams as provided by RPW. Obviously you'll need a stage 2 or higher (custom) turbo kit and you'll definitely want to upgrade various other things like the suspension, drivetrain and interior. In the end it probably would be "cheaper" to buy a new car, but its not quite the same or as fun.
yeah man spend about 10,000 dollars and you can easily get 300+ whp. there's a yellow lancer here in houston thats making around 400+ whp, he's sposered by some audio company.
you'd need to build your tranny, new pistons, cams, head, and a bigger turbo.
say you get rrm stage 2. $6.000
pistons. $1,000
cams. $1000
build transmission. $1000
head work. $1000
10,000 right there . some #'s i did round up to cover installation fee's. But i did not include the tuning fee's which most likley be another $1000 if your lucky. But over all with that set up you could easily boost to maybe 400 crank HP at least.
so.... pretty much have a 300-400 hp car , say you bought your lancer for 10k srt-4 is 20k. 10k in mods to your car and you have more power than a dodge for the same price. but not the reliablity. i would compare with the evo but they have more weld on suspension, AWD blah blah. srt is pretty much a boosted neon with a few more mods. pretty much you can spend 10k and get better results than that car at least. say you spend only 8k on turbo and upgrades to your engine, and 2k in suspension youd have a better handling and more powerful car that srt's. if you have the money you could easily get with the big boys.
its pretty obvious cause there are 700hp civic's around so duh a lancer could get that much, it would just cost more because our market is not as big as honda's.

Soon who knows... you may just see RRM and RPW working together to provide the lancer community with the most comprehensive power parts possible. :hint: :hint:
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow wow wow i have competition now thats good to hear
good luck on hitting your goal man you can do it I went my
own route and achieved it but thanks to RRM i was able to
get some motivation...i knew there was more power to generate
on our motor....therefore i went with a custom setup...fortunately
boe helped me with some things and even RRM helped me out
when i needed them...i still have a few trick up my sleeve and
may get more out of my car but i am very compfotable with the
power i made with this car with the help of AMS tuning and me
building the motor with my buddy Jay...keep me posted
i have yet to tune on race gas so thats another thing i have to
do when spring hits stay tuned.....

as for the quest of 300hp, I think its a good idea to get your local shop involved like you have planned, that way they know exactly how to build it up, custom tune, and all that stuff cause they were part of the project from the ground floor, and you'll have a more reliable car in the end.
edit: oh yeah, forget to mention, if your thinking about 300hp on the lancer, you'd def. need a standalone ecu (aem ems and or the haltech unit, etc) so keep that in mind and make friends with a certified tuner that really knows his/her stuff. good luck man

jk ... that would rock tho to see rpw/rrm create performance parts

nice to hear we might be able to get some nice numbers out of the lancer in a year or two
By then, I might be able to afford some of it
