What year of the ES is/was the coolest?
02-03 es for sure. grill for 02-03 is ugly yes, very easily fixed. bumper is not center of attention in the back. The headlights do not look like an accords. It is more boxy(matter of personal taste).

Correct me if I'm wrong or lacking guys, which I probably am.
The 04-05 body with the license plate on the back bumper and eyelids would be the perfect lancer. I wouldn't trade my 04 ES for an older one...or an 06 one cause i already have the best one.

i got a used 02 cause i didnt like the look of the 04s at the time, its definitely a more aggresive look, and i dont know why everyone hates the 02/03 grille, it makes it unique, but i did paint mine and now looks way better
